Caramel Bars

Instructions:
Caramel layer

  • 25 fresh dates

  • 1 cup tahini (2,5 dl)

  • 1,5 tsp salt

  • 1 teaspoon coconut sugar


Chocolate layer

  • 0,5 cup coconut oil (1 dl)

  • 0,5 cup cacao butter (1 dl)

  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 3 tablespoons of maple syrup

    (Easier chocolate layer option Melt 1 cup of @enjoylifefoods chocolate chips and add 1 tsp coconut oil)


Instructions:

  1. In a food processor blend dates, tahini, salt, and coconut sugar until smooth. Line a 9” x 9” cake pan with parchment paper. Filled it with caramel and put it in the freezer until it has set.

  2. In a water bath melt the coconut oil and cacao butter. When melted add 4 tablespoons of cacao powder and 3 tablespoons of maple syrup. Stir till well combined.

  3. Take the caramel out of the freezer and cut it into pieces of desired size. Dip the caramel pieces into chocolate and let them rest and parchment paper in the fridge or freezer.
