Salted Almond Date Bite
Ingredients:
Raw almonds (depending on how many you want to make. Each date takes 1-2 almonds)
2 tbsp Sea Salt (get good quality like this)
Almond butter
Dark Chocolate (I love this brand)
Instructions:
Boil a small pot of water and add 2 tbsp of sea salt to the water. Dissolve the salt by stirring with a spoon.
Remove the boiling water from the heat and add your desired amount of almonds to the pot. (I make big portions, just remember you need 1-2 almonds per date)
Soak almonds in salted water for 7-10 minutes. The strain the water from the almonds and add them to a parchment lined baking sheet.
Preheat oven to 400F. When hot add the tray with almonds to the oven. Toast the almonds until fragrant and visibly dry. Between 10-15 minutes. We want the almonds to start crackling once they are cooling. That means they are toasted perfectly.
While the almonds are in the oven prep your dates.
Remove pit by slicing down the middle.
When almonds have cooled a little add 1-2 almonds as replacement of the pit.
Add as much almond butter to the date as you would like and carefully press the date closed.
Melt your dark chocolate and drizzle it oven the date.
Add the finished dates to the fridge or freezer and enjoy cold.
Keep in airtight container and enjoy!
